My Little Motivation "Trick"

So most of you know that I love to run, but I'm sure most of you don't know that most days I don't feel like running. The part about running that I actually love is the AFTER feeling. I'm sure a lot of people feel this way about working out in general. I thought I would share with you the silly little thing I've started to do to get myself in gear.
I have a little white board I keep on my fridge. After my runs I write down how far I ran and how I feel at that very moment (like when I'm dripping with sweat and feel invincible). The next day when I'm not feeling like running and I'm trying to motivate myself, I look at the little white board and get myself pumped up. No, it isn't a magical pill that makes me leap into a sprint and start running....but it is my little motivation that I wanted to share.

What do you do to motivate yourself?

  5. I might have to try this. But I might just look at my own handwriting and be resentful of myself for trying to psychologically manipulate myself, and forgo the run just out of spite.

  7. This is a very cute idea! I use a journal. Each day after my run or workout I record it and make notes about how it went and how much effort I gave towards it. Not only can I remind myself how I felt during and after a run but it helps me to look back and see how much I've improved! Nothing like looking back 3 months and seeing I've tripled the amount of push ups I can do in a set. Seeing progress is a huge factor for me!
