From the moment I gazed at the pregnancy test and saw the magical words ‘YES’ I was catapulted into a world I had previously barely acknowledged. Don’t get me wrong I have always loved children and knew that one day I would like to be a mummy but the reality of finding myself, in what I like to call ‘Baby Land’ was something else!
Being a mum is the best thing ever and being a sentimental soul I have charted all the magical milestone moments in my diaries. A few years back I decided to publish my pregnancy and baby journals and share my journey to mommy hood. The highs, the lows and all the useful things I have learned along the way.
From the moment you conceive your baby as a mum there are so many decisions to make. Should I eat this? Can I do that? Is this safe? Is my baby too hot, too cold? Hungry? Tired? The list is never ending and I have learned, in the words of Benjamin Spock to ‘Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.’ I now feel so connected to all parents, we may parent differently but we are all navigating the wonderful world of parenthood the best we can.
Last year I had an idea to bring together the very best mummy and daddy bloggers, writers, authors and baby experts to put together a compilation book for all parents to enjoy. It is for new parents, parents of toddlers, young children and teens, right through to grandparents experiencing their own grown-up children having babies. I am so proud with the finished book 100 Little Words on Parenthood it has exceeded my expectations and is packed full of anecdotes, poems, inspirational quotes and little gems of wisdom on every aspect of parenthood. Each entry is exactly 100 words and so it is a book you can dip in and out of whilst multitasking, as only a parent can!
I have 2 books to give away. Enter the Rafflecopter for your chance to win. Open to everyone worldwide 18 and older. Must have a valid shipping address, no PO Box. Winners will be announced 3/11/13.

I'm a huge fan of Charlie's, and "100 Little Words on Parenthood" is, I think, destined to become a classic, there is so much wit and wisdom within these pages - so many different people who have all combined to share their special moments ... a wonderful book to have, a wonderful book to gift:)

DeleteI love being able to stay at home with my babies! It's the best thing about being a mom...getting to watch them learn and grow!
ReplyDeleteHi Kara
DeleteI couldn't agree with you more. Being a mum is the best thing ever and as I say in my book it's a chance to 'See and live the world through the eyes of your child. It's an excuse to skip in the street, sing on the bus and blow bubbles in the park. When your a parent you have an excuse to have a bag full of snacks and someone who loves you unconditionally. Being a parent is the greatest gift in life.'
You enjoy every magical moment with your babies.
