We did it! Mr. FPL and I ran the 5K Color run. I know, it's only 3.2 miles. It was a SUPER DUPER fun 3.2 miles!!! I was originally supposed to go with my running partner and San Antonio BFF, but her husband was TAD and her and her kids went to visit him this weekend....so Mr. FPL filled in. We had a blast. If you have never had the chance to do a color run or graffiti run, you should. I didn't get to take any pictures when we got there because I left my phone in the truck. I did snag some pictures from their website.

When we first got there I was a little upset and thought we were late. There were people already covered in paint and I thought you only got "painted on" while running. Nope. We quickly got acquainted with the process of people saying "oh, you are too white" (because we came in white) "You need some color". So they threw their bags of powdered paint all over us. We also got our own bags of paints so we waited in line and got pink and blue. The first thing Mr. FPL did when he got his blue paint was dump it in his hand and slap a hand print on my butt. Go figure.

It was a great atmosphere. There were people in crazy socks, tutus, wigs, and all kinds of cray colored clothing. Babies, kids, and people of all ages. Everyone was geared up and ready to go. It was probably the biggest group of people I've ran with. The only downside was most of the people were not there to run. We had to "bob and weave" for the first half a mile till we could get a good pace going.

Every few minutes we would run threw a "mist" of color...which was really just a bunch of people standing on each side of us throwing powder on us. By the end of the race we were covered from head to toe. It was so much fun!!! There were people cheering us on and holding signs that said "Keep Calm and Run On". It was neat. I love a good crowd.

Next year we will definitely be taking the entire family. I'm sure my kids can handle running 3 miles and we can put the baby in a stroller. I can't stress enough how much fun this was. I recommend this to ANYONE!
I used to run 5Ks just about every weekend, but I haven't run any recently. I need to get back into it.
