This past Saturday I got to team up with some awesome people to walk in honor of those battling cancer and those who have lost the battle. Over 1,000 people came out to walk and we all raised over 1 million dollars. This money goes to research and support for leukemia and lymphoma.
I had originally planned to take my entire family, but my baby girl had a temp and I didn't want to take her out. So, I went out alone and met up with my teammates.
What an exciting event. There were businesses from all over San Antonio out to show their support. There were little dancers dancing, a band playing rock music, and restaurant galore serving free food.
But what got me the most was seeing all the personalized t-shirts made in dedication to a lot of little angels who have passed. I will never ever be able to grasp how someone survives losing a child. I just can't fathom it. I can't. It was a very emotional event that I can say I was very proud to be a part of.
Our team, TEAM RYAN, did not raise our goal amount, but we raised quite a bit. I'd like to thank all of you who donated. My company, SIMPLY FRESCO, matched all of my donations by 100%. That made a huge impact on our total donation. Thank you SIMPLY FRESCO! And thank you to ALL who donated what you could.
Below are pictures I took throughout the night. Downtown San Antonio is so beautiful at night.
